Do you want to do a creative degree at Sussex but need some time to try out a few things and make up your mind about your future? This year we have added a Creative Technologies and Design Foundation Year to the range of foundation years possible at the university, to support people with an interest in design and the creative industries.
The new course has a focus on developing your creative vision and giving you the tools to make it a reality. The course is designed as a chance to learn your strengths, practice new skills and get ahead with the ideas and abilities that lead to a great degree in an exciting and highly employable creative field. We benefit from having Informatics and Engineering staff on hand, while teaching Design and Media techniques and knowledge that feed into courses in Product Design, Computing with Digital Media and Media Communications. If you’ve ever wanted to experiment with the visual, material or digital, be playful and inventive, then the final project will be the chance to develop your own project in a direction you choose, finding the best way of expressing your creativity.
There are modules on visual communications, design, media, physical interfaces, professional practice and theories of creativity.
Product designers from Sussex have just won three prestigious awards at the New Designers Show in London in July, so you will be following in the footsteps of the best!
