Sussex alumni, Dr Guy Scott becomes interim president of Zambia…

We always love to hear about what all our alumni are up to once they leave the University of Sussex and we get lots of interesting stories about new ventures, new project and new positions. And today we are delighted to announce that Dr Guy Scott has become the interim president of Zambia.

Dr Scott was born in Zambia, and gained his PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Sussex in 1986, entitled ‘Local and global interpretation of moving images’, which is still available online here.

After leaving Sussex, Dr Scott returned to Zambia and has worked within both Agriculture and Politics and was named as the interim President of Zambia after the death of President Michael Sata in October.

We wish Dr Scott all the best in his (very prestigious) new position!
